The compound
This stunning 13 hectares Estate Property called "Le Cannelle" is located on the hills overlooking the Etruscan coast, in the northern part of Maremma, at 300m. over sea level, close to the village of Castellina Marittima.
The Estate, placed within the wide, wild and environmentally protected Nature Reserve called "Il Terriccio", includes 4 stone-houses resulting from a complete restructuring of farm houses dating back to the XVIII° century. The works, carefully planned so as to assure particularly high standards, were carried out between 2007 and 2009 under the direction of the well-known Tuscan architect Marco Bartolini Salimbeni.
All the houses, completely independent one from the other so as to assure the utmost privacy, enjoy the magnificent view of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the main Tuscany islands: Elba, Capraia, Gorgona and, in very clear days, also the French island of Corsica.
The compound offers its guests a 5 hectares garden, designed by the internationally well-known landscape architect Paolo Pejrone. It also includes an orchard with many different fruit plants. Pathways lead to a superb swimming-pool with overflow effects just below the houses. A large solarium with sun-beds frames the 16 x 8 x 1.4 m. pool, with a shallow end for children. By the side, a one floor building with a pergola, a changing room and a bath-room and a fully equipped kitchen. A large stone barbecue by the pergola allows to grill the excellent Tuscan T-bone steaks and sausages. A couple of glasses of super Tuscan wine may help create the ideal atmosphere: the choice is wide, one can choose between the many world known Chianti DOCG or, if you wish to excel and be more generous to the friends than to the pocket, one of the world leader Italian wines the Lupicaia-Castello del Terriccio.

The natural hab
|

|
This vast, wild and environmentally protected nature reserve was originally created by the Pisa Republic, with towers aimed to monitor the coast and prevent attacks by enemies, especially the Saracene pirates.
The natural wild habitat of the Reserve has allowed the growth and development of a rich flora and fauna: oaks, holms, corks, myrtles, laurels, brooms amongst others. In the distance, if you are lucky, you can see roe-bucks, pheasants, wild boars, foxes, hares, turtles and, sometimes in the Winter, also wolves.
The climate is typically Mediterranean: warm during the day and fresh at night.
